Muriel started her company, Muriel's Babies from several metamorphoses.
Muriel grew up in Massachusetts, Puerto Rico, and Panama, and has traveled extensively around the globe.
As a child, dolls were of no interest to Muriel, but dressing up her Siamese cats with doll clothes was a lot of fun. (Not for the cats though!) After majoring in art at Ripon College in Wisconsin, Muriel headed to sunny California and attended the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography located in Santa Barbara. After graduating, Muriel briefly worked as an assistant to a fashion photographer in Los Angeles and then headed "home" to Massachusetts. Soon, a children's photography business was born. Muriel provided all clothes and props for her clients for each photo session.(Remember the cats?)
After 8 1/2 years in business, Muriel decided to switch gears and open a store which provided note cards (with "her" babies on them), cribs, cradles, and an eclectic assortment of other baby items including one-of-a-kind vintage items.
Being a mom herself, Muriel has developed a real sense for what other mothers want when it comes to their children.
Muriel currently resides in a seaside community in Massachusetts with her husband and 2 young boys, one old yellow lab, and 3 kitties.
